The Newspaper Association of America presented us with a mindboggling request: make the physical newspaper relevant to a digitally- minded population.

We leveraged what the newspaper does best, use quality journalism to elucidate the concerns of local communities, and married that to what the internet does best, allow a two-sided conversation between news source and consumer.

The result: Visual Democracy. A way to measure what articles are most relevant to local communities in real time.
